Zurdo et al:

Great board discussion!

Irresponsible articles from "Pulitzer-seeking" business writers will effect the price of a stock over a period of days or weeks. Viagra is probably the only pharmaceutical product in which the Wall Street Journal uses "Freedom of Information" searches as a basis for their articles instead of clinical study data.

The good news is that over the long-term, the true efficacy and safety of a pharmaceutical product will win out. Great examples are Prozac and Norvasc.

The current environment is one reason I don't like playing options on a great stock. I know stocks like PFE are going higher in the future... but it may take a Valley dip in order to get there. Timing this route via options is risky. I prefer to add to my long-term portfolio during these buying opportunities.

Finally, I believe PFE management does a great job managing their products, pipeline and stock value. Responding to every Viagra article would require a daily press conference that probably would generate even more irresponsible stories from news hungry reporters.

Have PFun!
