Now you are really starting to P me off. Bombardier is a great Canadian success story but you probably buy arctic cats from Wal-Mart anyway. Desmarais, JJ Cossette (Gr Forex), etc. these guys are pretty straight, where do you come off flaming success? They rose to the top of their respective industries through work, not protectionist rhetoric.

Maybe Quebec does benefit from the federal system - isn't that what the ongoing debates are all about, trying to win the loyalty and committment of a population?

Your comments about Quebecois being more lazy is racist to the extreme - what is the point other than antaganism? Unemployment is likely higher due to the effects of the political debates (the last 25 years have been better for Toronto than Montreal) but then again I would rather live in a place where people have a passion for life and don't automatically attach monetary values to quality of life.

But what really gets my blood boiling is when english people from Ontario (or anywhere for that matter) start telling me how badly off the English in Quebec are. I can defend myself perfectly well thank you, and this anglo. living in a small northern - and very franco (just over 98% in last census) - town doesn't feel threatened at all. It isn't complicated, 1 province in a country, on a continent, speaking with a strong majority a different language, from a different cultural and historical background, and they want to keep it that way. What's the problem?

Any Quebecois/Kebeker worth their salt knows the value of learning english for commerce, travel, etc. but the opposite is hardly true. Lots of people on the Ontario border won't speak 10 words of french.
And there lies the real problem, it's all about attitudes and yours leaves a lot to be desired.

Can we get back to le Spear de Win now, SVP/WSP?
