Good news. Either they heard from the NASD (I filed a complaint a few days ago) or they realized they were hurting their reputation too badly to be worth the exquisite pleasure they were taking in being mean.

Michael Graf called "for Joe Fox," said a credit of $135 has been authorized by Joe Fox to be given to my account. That would cover the $100 in commissions and the additional $35 in research fees. He said they were sorry it had taken so long and that I could call Michael Graf with further problems.

On the other hand he said that partial transfers can take longer than full transfers, but he would try to expedite it. He said three days before the transfers occur he is notified and he cancels the outstanding orders on those stocks at that time.

Last night I received a notification from John Putnam that the transfer had gotten to US Clearing so I had cancelled my outstanding orders. But Michael Graf said I can reinstitute them as he would be cancelling them three days before the transfer.

I think this is just an example of different firms handling these things differently. The reason Michael said they notify him three days early has to do with settlement but actually I believe that settlement doesn't apply in these partial transfers, since the equities are transferred electronically. But I didn't want to raise questions. I just want out. :-)

I hadn't mentioned Brown's name on the phone but Michael mentioned it, so he was probably aware of all the details we've been discussing here and also whatever I do within Web Street. I wish they could track their own records as well as they can track me. LOL!

If the $135 credit does make it to my account I'll be able to afford lunch, anyway. Lunch anyone?

Linda
