More from First Call: Welty says employee count is close to 500. Even better: Over 38,000 items are in the database; 7% are non-Y2K compliant, another 10% are suspect. Karl's interpretation: Those 10% that are suspect are generating a lot of reports, each generating cash for Tava. 17% of the chips are not compliant or suspect - the embedded chip problem is bigger than Gartner estimated. 83% of the items in the database are compliant. Therefore, many will still be in use after 2000. Tava will have a huge database to mine for the Post Y2K business. Welty's report is out today, and is based on "recent" discussions with Tava.
