As I write, Sonia Dawson (Merrill Lynch technical analyst) on CNBC is examining the Russian RTS round-trip chart since 1985. Hilarious. She says her indicators say it will go lower and people should "sell into strength." What a joke. She's using technical indicators/charts to divine the outcome of a situation driven by politics, economics, military strategic considerations, currency and liquidity problems, panic psychology, oil price swings, etc. Thought you would enjoy to level of discourse presented sometimes on the tube.
