I doubt Intel has gone public with what they have planned for post Merced. For one thing, you're talking a ways out there. Merced is now out to 1998, I believe, for FCS and, I imagine, really takes off in 1999. There is a lot of software to be developed by Microsoft, HP, et al, too. For now, I would say enjoy the fruits of Pentium, PPro, MMX, Klamath, Deschutes and then, Merced. Plenty of time to worry about strategy beyond these. BTW, Merced is really going to have the Suns, DECs, and SGIs of the world sweating bullets.
