North American Exploration Corporation Board of Directors Michael E. Stamm, Ph.D., Chairman, Director and CEO, Age 52, U.S. Citizen
Dr. Stamm received his doctorate in Theoretical Physics from the University of Munich. After working at NASA on Apollo XV and XVI, he served as a professor at UCLA until he commenced his employment as a Vice President at Northwest Energy Company and its subsidiary, Northwest Pipeline Corporation, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Stamm advises the Crown of Morocco, OPEC and RAO GazProm. He received the Presidential Medal of Merit in 1982 from President Reagan. In 1984, he became a Trustee of the Presidential Trust and Vice Chairman in 1986 serving in that capacity until 1993. Dr. Stamm is Chairman of the Board of Zurich Holding Co. and is a member of the boards of directors of several companies in the US and Europe. He holds several international patents and has numerous affiliations and memberships worldwide.
Horst Mannebach, Ph.D., Director, Age 37, German Citizen
Dr. Mannebach received his doctorate in Solid State Physics from the University of Saarbrucken. He has seven years of experience in the technical management of oil and gas research projects. Horst serves as a Senior Scientist at the Research Laboratory of Braun AG. Formerly, Dr. Mannebach was Senior Scientist at Brochier Holding GmbH. Dr. Mannebach is a member of the Board of Managing Directors of Zurich Holding Company and he serves as advisor to the Boards of Brochier Holding GmbH and RAO GazProm.
George Ziller, Director Age 55, Australian Citizen
George Ziller received an MBA in Finance at the age of 22 from the Wharton Graduate Division of the University of Pennsylvania, and was awarded a Thouron Scholarship to pursue further studies at the London School of Economics. He joined Chase Manhattan Bank and became, at that time, its youngest corporate vice president in its history at the age of 29. From 1970-72, George worked in New York and London directing the bank's entry into offshore merchant banking and other non-banking businesses. He moved to Australia in 1972 and participated in building Chase's merchant and international banking business there. In 1984, he joined the Elders Finance Group (international merchant bank) as a Director in Sydney and then in London, England, as Regional Director. He ultimately managed five business units which were successfully spun off from the parent company in 1990. During his merchant banking career he has been involved in hundreds of millions of dollars of financings of both minerals and energy projects globally. Shortly after returning to Australia, George established a real estate investment entity that successfully purchased, developed and re-sold significant real properties in and around Austin, Texas. His current business activities are focused on commercializing proven technologies that offer significant economic advantage to resource providers. In addition to his business ventures, George is an active volunteer for his community and has devoted years of service to caring for street people in Australia.
Thomas C. Lourie, Director Age 50, US citizen
Mr. Lourie has a B.A. and M.A. in Russian and East European Studies from Yale University. Thomas has 25 years of experience in banking and venture capital. During the course of his career he has worked for two American banks: Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. and Bank of America NT & SA. At the latter, Tom became VP and Head of oil and gas activity for Europe, Middle East and Africa based in London. In addition, he has worked for N. M. Rothschild & Sons, Ltd. in London and Elders Finance Group UK Ltd. as Executive Director for Strategy, Corporate Finance, and Venture and Development Capital.
Since 1991, Tom has concentrated his activity in the former Soviet Union, where his practical experience has involved: implementing the start-up of a successful charter airline; serving as the Director for Post Privatization Investment Initiatives at the Russian Privatization Center (an arm of the State Property Committee); managing, on behalf of the Russian Ministry of Finance, a $300 million World Bank and EBRD banking project with the aim of developing a long-term debt financing market in Russia; starting the Investment Fund Forum; advising the Russian Securities and Exchange Commission; and successfully turning around a Latvian timber remanufacturing facility.
Steven Douglas Symms, Director, Age 60, US Citizen
Steven Symms graduated with a BA from the University of Idaho. He then served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1963. He was elected in 1972 to the 93rd congress and re-elected to three succeeding Congresses. In 1980, Mr. Symms was elected to the United State Senate and was re-elected in 1986 where he served until 1993. Currently, he is President of Symms, Lehn & Associates, Inc.; Director of Albertson's Inc.; Director of Pan American Capitol Inc.; Director of Boise Air Service Inc.; and Director of Symms Fruit Ranch Inc.
