Adding value is adding value - if you add value, by definition it was
worthwhile.

In addition, it's not a great idea to assume corporations "must know what they're doing." You would have lost a lot of money if you assumed that there must be a good reason for Seragen to spend lots of money on R&D.

Finally, the deal may just have been better than a dilutive equity investment from Lilly.

I think the lack of skepticism is a little unhealthy.
