R.D. - I'm a long term investor, too. And I'm as mad as hell that I didn't jump on these internet gorilla's even sooner, because sometimes the world does change. I didn't buy CPQ in '84 at $6 even though I knew about it. A lot of these internet companies will fail, but this really is going to be the NEXT BIG THING. And i think, like CPQ, ORCL, MSFT, and even IBM, in the techworld, he who is 1st in their niche has ENORMOUS advantages against the late comers. It is not important YET, or for a few years if AMZN makes money. They only need to raise money and gain market share now, which they've been quite good at.
Don't you wish you bought I ton of ORCL in '91, when they were 'about to go out of business'? You should have. (I didn't have money to buy a ton, but I bought as much as I could.)
