Satch, I have no idea, I think it's a rule of the exchange, but I am not totally sure. I believe I read this yesterday in the realtime chatroom #MTrader, Ken's place. Think it was posted by one of the traders there, and I believe I had heard it before somewhere. So I am not absolutely sure on this, but I do believe it to be the case. You should probably ask a broker, surely they would know something like this. BTW, if you could short an IPO I think they would drive these puppies way way down quick, it would be a LOT different. Along those same lines, I believe there is some other rule restricting the sale of the IPO stock by insiders for the first six month. Maybe Steve Goldman or someone can comment on this matter. Bill
