The January issue of Smart Money has a recommendation to by STAPLES by Patrick McCormack of Dean Witter (see page 30). He sets a target price of $30.00 by the end of 1997. This basically sums up the paragraph in Smart Money. I also read that STAPLEs was going to acquire the largest office supply buiness in England; which also has 15 retail outlets in Germany.

I really don't know much about the company. Does anyone know about anticipated earning for 1997 and beyond?

Does anyone know why STAPLES should have such a great year that would cause its prices to rise an anticipated 50% in the next year????
