Hi Greg - thanks for the 'heads up' re: The Financial Post

I have made no formal commitment to meet John Greenwood of The Financial Post - but the idea is there - the offer has been made on their part. If I do move ahead - I anticipate an outrageously expensive lunch, that's how I'll be ordering :-)

I wonder how many NIR SI posters almost choked when I posted the news that they wanted to interview me today :-) I think that poor Tim down in Bermuda almost had a heart attack - sorry Tim - hey I'm just sharing what I hear and find out.

I have no desire to seek publicity - don't need it. I have no urge to see my name in the newspaper - don't need it. Everyone knows what I think - it's all here in my posts. The FP doesn't need to interview me to write any article about me or anyone else who posts here or anywhere else on SI - but they can't write anything libellous either.

Gino has also been talking with the FP today - wondering why the News of Tuesday hasn't appeared (yet). They have written pieces on Napier before - so why not follow up with this week's News release - it was a very big deal in my view. It may appear tomorrow or in this weekend's issue - I hope that it does. Don't they owe the investment community that much? The FP today was thin - why not put it in today? Not newsworthy enough?

In any case John was a little short with Gino today - so if they're rude to him - why should I bother to make the effort to talk further with them? I don't need them. I don't need them to know what's going on with Napier - none of their reports on Napier have told me anything that I don't already know. If they have another spin for their article in mind, e.g., the rising influence of the Internet on the investment community, then fine, I can talk to that as well.

Let's wait and see where we are several weeks from now when I would have time to talk with them - in person. We should know more of what they want at that time - what their angle for the article would be - but they could always write something else - put an entirely different focus on what I say - or where I'm coming from.

** Here's my offer to my fellow NIR posters: if I feel that the consensus is that I NOT meet with The Financial Post - should the time come - then I won't. If so - then someone else here owes me an outrageously expensive lunch - I'm not giving that up :-) **

As I've said many times before - I post all of what I hear and learn - today it was The Financial Post's interest in interviewing me. I may do it - could be fun - then I may not. I will be very busy over the next six weeks in any case.

IMHO - by far the biggest thing to happen this week - was not Tuesday's News - nor the run-up in price and dump by the 'Buy on rumour - sell on News' crowd over the last two days - it was today's Information Seminar in Vancouver.

The brokerage houses may well be asking for Napier's and ICI's numbers going forward - projected sales growth, market penetration, client support growth...i.e., THE HARD (anticipated) FUNDAMENTAL NUMBERS GOING FORWARD!!!. It's also a very very big deal that ICI will be there. Both Napier and ICI must feel very confident of their numbers. If today is the day to step up to the plate - meet the brokerage houses face-to-face then so be it - I'll take it.

Let's have confidence in Napier and ICI - it's their day - look where they have brought us since March.

I'm looking forward to Alastair's seminar debrief - let's indeed see if the hard numbers were indeed discussed!!

Supper time,

David :-)

Ps. Greg - I've had 'Lentils - the twerp' canned 13 times now by SI - must be a record :-)
