1. The notes were also paid off with stock.
2. Some services were paid for with stock.
3. Add to that the slide in price.
4. The converters would want to be able to convert for as many shares as they could at a price close to a bid of $1. But they would not want the price to fall below $1 since their newly acquired shares would drop in value if RNTK were delisted.
5. IMHO some preferred holders sold shares either short or long so they could convert the preferred shares at as close to the maximum number of shares as they felt they could get. That they are converting says they don't expect the stock to go significantly lower. Also some converters of the preferred probably did sell in the runup of up to 50%.
