James, there's something about Kate Bohner's delivery that provokes heightened anxiety in me - sort of the same feeling I'd have if I were watching someone walk a tightrope strung up between two skyscrapers on a windy day without a net.

YO CNBC RAPS - that's, if I may, da bomb! A phat way to broaden the demo.

Me, I like to kick it old school, so instead of having newcomers like Noreaga added to the CNBC on-air team, I vote for guys like KRS-ONE and Chuck D. to be the new CNBC hosts. As far as the supporting cast goes - pair Maria B. with Falva Flav and ICE-T with Bob Pisani.

And while we're mixing rap and TV...

...what's up with Run D.M.C. doing jeans commercials for the GAP? These are the guys who gave us "Calvin Klein ain't no friend o' mine/don't want nobody's name on my behind..." (a great indictment of youth culture marketing) and now they're out pitching GAP jeans and making allusions to that very line in the commercial! Worst misuse of a song since NIKE used Iggy Pop's "Search and Destroy" (an anti-war song relying on use of ironic distance to make its point) to sell sneakers.

Where have you gone Grandmaster Flash?

Good trading,

Tom
