hi, bill
i don't know how it works with your phone co., but here you have to pay Bell Atlantic and ISP separate fees... i know pretty good ISDN connectivity, as well as all the other methods, i install and use ISDN router for my company (still working for someone ;-( hope not for long), and i think you've heard of such a nice feature of ISDN modems to drop one B-channel if you're not using it and another after predetermined period of time(it goes back live if you need it in seconds) - the only problem, with RT data feed you're always using them :-) and taking into consideration the full time use of the net, let's say 9 hrs p/day, 5 days( and some times weekends ), we can't go with less than 150hr. package, which is $75 plus exceeding it by ~50hrs for 2c per sec. for both B-channels - another $60 + ISP charges - $29-$49, (depends on the ISP) + backup ISP (from my expirience as a webmaster - even the best ISPs go down sometimes) --- already ~$200/mo at the best --- + $125 Bell Atlantic installation + $100-$200 modem
so if we speak in these price ranges, i might as well get a dedicated digital line :)
cable modems being pretty fast in connectivity are still re-e-e-eally slow in spreading around the country and especially with my screwed up 'cablevision'. it'll take them forever to get to my area - i'll probably move somewhere else faster :-)
adsl is not here yet to.
so the best solution is to get a dual modem setup. (at least, that's what i think)
and BTW, no one ISDN modem(itself) can give you more than ~115k.
good luck!
