You make excellent points.

I think the medocino could really hurt AMD next quarter as well.

My expectation is that as long as AMD keeps retail prices above $100-110 on average then they will at least show a much reduced loss. As you know AMD is ramping up supply and if they ship 4-5M k-6 this quarter at ASP in $100 range they could even break even.

Frankly I am looking at this as a short term trade.

Once the world gets out that PC demand is robust then we could easily see AMD in 20-25 range at least for a few weeks.

In terms of switching to K6 from PII, I am sure that OEMS are getting all the PII's they want. It's the smaller shops who are being starved and they will sell whatever they can.
