I couldn't agree more. It takes a lot of small winners to offset one huge loss(and at least for me, that's the only kind of losses I get- squeezed out). I think options were originally designed to use as insurance policies, and that is how they should be used. I can't help thinking how different things would be this year had I held firm against ZONA. I don't know how much it would have cost me for some offsetting calls, but I am sure it would have been less than covering at an 18pt loss. AMZN, same story; except I'm still in that morass.
