I think that the only thing we are missing (or should that be dismissing) are technical trading barriers. These have nothing to do with fundamentals, just charts and statistics. However, many of the big boys computers do pay attention to them for in/out points on positions. The point being that the transports have free fallen through their lower support levels and many are getting out based on this. Where it stops, who knows, I don't. However fundamentals do, in the long run always come back into play. That is why I feel that these stocks are a bargain and will prove out in the long run ( U, UAL, AMR, DAL, LUV). Unlike the steel industry where competition vs. demand should and has kept fundamentals down: competition is strong but demand and margians are gaining even more strength. Just a matter of time, but, when they do turn, they will fly (pun intended) IMHO.
