Some technical market underpinnings offering significant support are the amazing amount of share buybacks ALL NAUT CFWY AMES etc etc etc.... and insider buying happening all over the place.... On the fundamental side bonds will continue lower.... as I've indicated before, mid 4% range on the 30 year note by 2Q1999.... why? well, supply is drying up... not just because of foreign money.... but mostly because a lack of a domestic deficit.... by year 2001....... the bond bears just can't fight this.... were heading into a millenium of peace and plenty to be sustained by a temperate bull market..... high productivity, one world, low commodity prices, low cost of money, reduced artificialities (unions, govt regulations/interventions, taxes).........
Ralph Alcamporah tried to drive a stake through the heart of this market..... well his call was a day late and a dollar short.... I really dislike the way this guy waffles on earlier calls.... anyhow he tried to drive the market to is mean as defined by the LSQ trendline on a 10 or 15 year log graph.... this defines a range between 7400-7600..... the problem too many technicians (self included) have been looking for this.... hence it probably won't happen.........
Shame on Louise Yamata for using a non-log graph (on CNBC) for doing her trend/time analysis..... even an average engineer knows if you want a linear relationship between price and time you gotta use a log graph..... no wonder she got the wong answer....
