Brokers also tape their conversations with their difficult clients. I know of several brokers doing this. They protect themselves against possible lawsuits from clients when recommended stocks get into trouble. Whether you can use the tape as evidence in a court case would depend on the laws of the state where you reside, whether the law allow tape recordings as evidence.. most do. If the tape is doctored (i.e. cut, edited, etc.) this can easily be determined by professionals. Wouldn't want to doctor a tape after taking the oath to tell the truth... big problem if found out.
