Newbridge takeover rumors According to NBN last night, an analyst stated that on Thursday, there were rumors of Newbridge networks being taken over by Siemens or Nortel. This MAY have contributed to Nortel's slide along with the market conditions. Personally, I can not see why Nortel would need to acquire Newbridge Networks, as it would create a lot of product and technology overlap, unlike the Bay Networks merger. Obviously, the Nortel rumor is just a rumor, but... I wouldn't be surprised if they were taken over by Siemens or MCI. SB
