Yes. That was an antisense oligo. There are many companies with many patents on antisense oligos. What they're all missing is a way to deliver them effectively and cost effectively into the targetted cells. That's what CYGS claims to have - a delivery method.

You're confusing the application with the operating system if the computer analogy helps.

As to the rest of your comments, sure CYGS is speculative. It's claiming a new product in a new field. This is the same stage as when Dell started up working in a garage (and would Graystone ever had had a field day with that.) Everyone has to make up their own mind on the potential value of the concept and of the potential for CYGS to realize it. Posts from others are useful for providing some direction for your own DD. Speculation can provide large gains, matching the significant risk involved - if this isn't your bag, then go and buy Dell now. I'd rather have bought when they were in the garage and everyone thought they were crazy.
