the entire Russian stock market has a valuation of probably less than several of the DOW 30 ------ and I don't mean together, I mean separately ....
I didn't take time to check, but I'll bet that is true.
I bet that Dupont, which is in the market headlines the past two days, has a bigger market cap than the entire Russian stock market ...
That's not to denigrate the impact of Russia, but I think this is a media free for all feeding feast on the blood in the street over there.
It probably has more impact on emotion than any thing else , in reality but the media played the Korea downdraft for all it was worth, and more, and Russia stock market is tiny tiny compared to Korea.
So it's time for a new worry bead to be rolled in front of the public here.
So, therefore I agree with you about the political instability aspect being more important .....
Russia has been a bellweather of conversion to democracy and capitalism . That makes this problem loom large on the political horizon, especially with China having problems and Hong Kong not doing well under a communist rule.
This poses a grave global mark against USA way of operation.
