Did anyone catch Alan "the Bear's" discussion about foreign markets in relation to the US GDP?

I was suprised to hear him of all persons talking about the topic, but I was even more suprised to know that in total, the overall effect of Asia and Russia to the GDP is 4%. So all the worries that we are seeing about the markets and these declines really do not effect many investors, firms or really our economy.

Due to our strength and self sufficiency we really dont rely on others to propel our economy.

Then why are we so worried about if Russia (whos industrials are in total about 115 points..lol) moves up or down, or even China?

I thought the piece was well done and pointed out that we are over-reacting to the problems in other markets, and in all likelihood these problems wont effect our econ numbers or overall corporate profits.

Thats the good news, but not for options holders like me..
