That's not likely to happen. Why would Alcatel want to
share their pie? The only reason Alcatel teamed up with
Ascend is because of Ascend's internet access and remote
networking products (ie. Ascend is not an ADSL player in
this team). Alcatel will deploy it's own ADSL and ATM equipment.

IMHO, Amati has another 3-6 months left to get a solid partner
before they miss the boat. Their partnership with NEC sounds
too wishy-washy; the impression I get is their partnership
only involves VDSL and not ADSL. They need a partner with
connections in the North American Telco market. If they get
one in the next 3-6 months, their stock could skyrocket
(given their low market cap relative to the potential ADSL
market). But if they try to do it alone, don't be surprised
to see single digits 3-6 months down the road.
