The NetDynaics CTO (Ofer Ben-?) left about 6 months ago as well. I know some engineering talent that left over the past 6 months too. I can't understand why Sun bought Net Dynamics instead of WebLogic. WebLogic has much better technology and is 100% pure Java, and is the only company to implement every single Java standard published by Sun. Seems like a strange choice to me.

On another subject, whatever happened to Diba ? Diba was a hot start up focused on Internet appliances. They were the buzz in the valley for a long time. I haven't heard a thing about them since Sun swallowed them. Are any products coming out of this once promising group ?

It seems like the people on this thread are reflective of Sun itself; mezmorized by Microsoft, preoccupied with bashing Microsoft, and not focusing on the real strengths of Sun. McNealy should be working day and night to forge alliances with IBM to promote Java more extensively. Sun has lots of strong technologies they should be promoting. The recent focus on ISP's is exactly the right thing to do.
