Bill,

In the Comcast locations the cable rental is part of the $40/month charge. One of my peers has a Comcast cable modem 1.5M down ~700k upstream with a $99 installation charge. Two cable guys arrive at the house, one runs the cable and installs a splitter and the second installs the Nic, modem and browser. It takes ~1.5 hours for the installation.

BEL's modem charge will be part of the $99 installation "NIC, Modem, Splitter", iff you sign a one year contract with Bell-Altantic.net. The service is ~640K down, not sure on the upstream but I'll assume 64K. This will cost ~$60/month... until later.
