vladimir--

the REALITY is that both cable and DSL are going to win. within 8 years, DSL as we know it will not exist. additionally, i would lay odds that the cable infarstructure in homes will become the standard for distribution, and that the telcos and cablecos will connect to it. of course, this is until we start moving to fiber or an advanced wireless solution.

a lot of people with a cable bias seem to think the RBOCs are just going to die. that simply isnt going to happen. technically, we have only begun to find ways to get a lot of data down a twisted pair pipe. it isnt going to stop at 50Mbps VDSL.

the LD market is going to decline in value, especially as IP telephony really takes off. the only markets left are going to be the local ones.

lets all take a breath here. this nonsense that its one vs. the other is rubbish. i am pretty sure that people are going to continue to use cable mostly for video, and telephone for data/vox service. as for what the street thinks...they overvalued WSTL last year, and they are undervaluing WSTL this year. so whats new?

good luck to all,
trey
