Pam's friend made a typo. The article I referred to is titled "Holmium Laser Offers Opportunities for Mild Hyperopia, Presbyopia"

"Phase 3 Trials indicate HTLK shows promise..."

The article mentioned the phase 2 results at the Hunkeler Eye Center in Kansas City MO.

"HLTK has its disadvantages, as well. First, the procedure is still in its infancy and is investigational. Long term follow-up is not yet available. Additionally, the procedure is limited to low levels of hyperopia ...Finally, the procedure does not correct for astigmatism..."

I am a firm believer in refractive surgery. I actively promote it. This sounds to me like another tool, but I don't see a bombshell here.
