As someone in the enterprise software industry who makes a living selling software on these platforms - there is no doubt that SUNW is ahead and gaining against HP, IBM, DEC, DG..whatever. The demand for Sun servers is explosive - whoever i speak to is thinking about Sun. in my mind they are hurting HP the most since they are a similarly independant Hardware and Software reseller as opposed to a DEC or IBM shop. Its no wonder that HP has strongly turned to NT and ceded much of their Unix Code development outside. This opens up Sun for the next 5 years to be THE dominant vendor in Enterprise Servers and computing. On this price basis alone Sun is undervalued - java, NC, etc. is all icing on the cake. In 5 years Sunw will still be way ahead of NT (NT = Not Today or how about Not Tomorrow) I have my entire IRA in Sun and never lost a seconds worth of sleep since I know ill have a nice retirement thanks to Scott.
