I tend to agree with you Matthew. I took some profits from some nice autumn gains a couple of weeks ago. I am now around 20 to 25 percent cash, and am pretty comfortable at that level. Its not easy to watch the cash sitting around, but I think a few weeks of patience is prudent right now. I am holding only about five stocks, which makes it easier to keep things under control. I am only holding stocks that have very strong EPS, strong EPS growth forecasts for 97 (at least +50%), and relatively low PE ratios. This worked for me to get through last summer's plunge in decent shape so that I could put everything back into back into the fall market rally. I think it might be a good way to bring in the New Year.
