During that long period that escaped you, the idle rich descendents of the aforementioned Rockefeller have gone downmarket - as family scion John D. 'Jay" bought his Senate seat in West Virginia well over a decade ago, firmly placing the Rockefellers within the party of greed and corruption, the Democrats. In fact, Senator Rockefeller still holds the all-time record for buying votes, spending well over $20 for each in his contest against Arch Moore. Check out the FEC. They document the fact that the Republicans get more of their funds from the middle class who are trying to limit the burden of government while the Dems get more of their funds from millionaires buying influence and government policy to feed their greed.
