>>This is the surprising aspect about Republicans: most support all the party's activities, little realizing it is the party of Rockefellers, JP Morgans etc. Are you a Rockefeller?

You highlight your unsurprising ignorance with anachronisms that ceased being even remotely true decades ago. During the quarter century that escaped you the Republican party firmly established itself as the party of the middle class and entrepreneur. They represent the people that pay most of the taxes. That is why Republicans support limited government through lower taxes and regulation.

The Democrat party has devolved into the party of "takers", whether the dependent poor or those advancing that dependence through social engineering, the so-called "New Class" - the Dem party faithful all thrive on big government largesse and its creation - the externality of societal degeneration. (DeToqueville warned that such people would destroy America's experiment with democracy) That is why Democrats support tax increases, new and unproductive government spending along with rampant regulation.

During that long period that escaped you, the idle rich descendents of the aforementioned Rockefeller have gone downmarket - as family scion John D. 'Jay" bought his Senate seat in West Virginia well over a decade ago, firmly placing the Rockefellers within the party of greed and corruption, the Democrats. In fact, Senator Rockefeller still holds the all-time record for buying votes, spending well over $20 for each in his contest against Arch Moore.

Check out the FEC. They document the fact that the Republicans get more of their funds from the middle class who are trying to limit the burden of government while the Dems get more of their funds from millionaires buying influence and government policy to feed their greed.
