I figure slot 1 will bump you up about one speed grade. So AMD should be able to get within one speed grade of Intel, assuming that their process technology is pretty much the same. Interestingly, by December or so, this is exactly where we'll be: K6-2B and K6-3 at 400 MHz, Intel at 450.
