Sorry to be so late responding(wasn't aware of the e-mail, I rarely use the home page to access). I agree; I've been waiting for dips below 8 to load up on this one. Besides the second generation compounds, I think they are looking into conjugating various other molecules and therapeutics to their hemoglobin compounds...sounds interesting in terms of better drug delivery to various sites, depending on the pharmaceutical. I've also come accross some things addressing potential adverse side effects with recombinant "hemoglobin" exposure and resultant possible tissue toxicities that are being looked at in the animal/research world. Might be a potential downside to Somatogen?? I still like this one.....big time $$$!
