Max,

SAVLY is in the convergent billing business. Got hit because of an unsubstantiated rumor that their new platform for UNIX is going to have problems. Also, they had to reduce earnings estimates a bit and this type of thing destroys the stock of companies that have been running at the high end of the P/E spectrum. P/E is now back to a relatively low number for this growth industry, particularly for a market leader (about 27 I believe). I wanted to be invested in this niche of the communications industry and SAVLY has been in charge of some of the largest implementations for companies that have really done great and benefited from their work, like Brooks Fiber.

I'm not big on the Yahoo boards but hardly anyone posts about SAVLY on SI so I sometimes look at it. There's two posts there from yesterday after yet another selloff that actually sum up my opinion on them pretty well. The first is from an ex-employee, the second is from a current customer (at least that's what they say). Spelling errors aren't mine <g>

The company has definately got a huge product - convergent billing for those who don't know. This is a huge market and Saville supposedly has one of the best in the business. While I was working for them - shares hit 58 - then whoever projected flat earnings made Wall Street pretty upset. My guess is that they exceed projections and boost once again. They just signed a huge deal in Europe and their UNIX/Open systems product is looking nice. Stay with them....

I have been a Saville User for a couple years, and have worked on evaluation projects for both my company and industry groups, and without question, Saville is in a class by itself with their billing product. The question is not who the best is, it is can we affoard it. I hold the stock, and continue to buy, regardless of the short term drop, I have always had success in investing in companies which are innovative, have good management, and offer the best products in their industry. If you can hold your shares till Nov, you will be rewarded.
