Probe into royal flush

Britain's aviation authorities are investigating reports of excrement landing around the royal family's Windsor Castle home, a spokesman said yesterday.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said excrement fell from the sky on July 26 in the area where Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and others were watching a polo match.

"Numerous brown, foul-smelling pellets fell into the area," said the CAA report.

Windsor is close to London's Heathrow airport.

The CAA said five similar incidents had been reported in the previous 10 days, although it said it was convinced planes were not to blame as their waste systems were sealed.
