Larry,

That's an interesting comment.

You seem to be suggesting that it might be worth trading "great companies", even if it's on a "bad" exchange. Maybe so.

However, I think it depends to a large extent upon one's time frame. If one holds a stock over an extended period of time, then being clipped out of points on entry and exit transactions may not be too big of a deal. But if one is frequently in and out of stocks, then the adverse effects of NASDAQ manipulations become increasingly important.

This is a complex issue, and perhaps I'm going to extremes to rule out using the NASDAQ, and "4+ letter" stocks altogether. But as a frequent stock trader, I see no need to expose myself to unnecessary risk, unless there is good reason to do so.
