Judy, I am still waiting for the proof that any technician has ever made money over a market cycle. Many do on paper, but, then, when they really manage money, as in the case of Marty Zweig, they don't do quite as well. By a lot. <G> His flagship Zweig Fund is up 7.2% for the past 52 weeks, one of the worst performances among closed end domestic funds. Of course, Marty is not all TAs and he gave up management of his own funds due to lousy performance. But, he is the only one who has tried real world investing and it didn't work for him. Until the TAs step up and take the Train Challenge, I will not only remain sceptical, I will laugh at their comments.
Fundamental Analysis works perfectly if you are right and you have a sensible valuation model. Thus the problem with FA. <G>
On 90/10, go to the SI Home Page, click on the IFC Newsletter, and then go to The Full Archives for my piece of August 25, 1997, "Tech Stock Speculating While Wearing a Belt and Suspenders." Yes, that is the strategy that helped me make 400% on the option portion of the 90/10 despite the fact that the stock went a total of 50 points against my first third purchase of puts.
