Kurt, you are right about there having to be a pretty decent reason for a continuance, (at least after the first 2 or 3), but I do not know whether or not that is the case in Bahamian courts. I would think that even though it is a Bahamian case, much of the evidence, etc. is also in the USA. That should be good for 3-4 delays in itself. Also, there could be scheduling problems, etc. I am just not sure what priority Bahamian courts put on cases that are international in nature.
Time is the real element here. The quote of Bender's that you cited is exactly what these guys are hoping for. They want us to all forget about it and move on. A lot of people have already done just that.
People always work so hard for money. Then, when they get to the end of their lives, they realize it. It's not money, it's time that is the valuable thing. It's the one thing that can never be altered by the human hand.
These guys know how valuable time is, and they more of it they can buy, the better off they are.
