Hi Eliz, yes, we get Bob Brinker here. Most times he gets a call from the SF Bay Area, he'll say 'KGO, great station.' That's the station we pick it up on. My wife started listening to him about four years ago. I didn't have the patience, would rather take off for the beach or something. Then, a couple of Saturdays, while gardening with the radio in the back yard, I heard some of the calls he'd made in the past, confirmed them, and became a fan, or trekkie, as he calls his fans. While I'm thinking of it, I wouldn't pay too much attention to his individual stock opinions. He's blown some. He tries to talk about Intel when someone calls in about them, and has learned just about enough about them to be dangerous. He doesn't claim to have a lot of technology knowledge. But, for overall market (DJIA, S&P 500) he's been right on. He says he has about five market parameters he follows on which he makes his calls. Inflation rate, interest rates, growth of the economy, probably unemployment should be four of them.

The guy today, Bill? Flanagan, kept saying 'Bob says we have a buying opportunity' over and over. Obviously, he defers to the master, the swami Brinker. Flanagan doesn't usually show much assertiveness, anyway. I guess it takes years to get the confidence Brinker has.

BTW, there is an SI Brinker thread, started and contributed to by his trekkies (not me yet). Check it out.

Nice to hear from you and, oh, up to Boston for antiques and lobster lately?

Those electricians got the power wiring in your house is so wacky, it made your computer post twice for you!

Take care,

Tony
