Guy,
I wonder about you, for some reason! But as for your questions, short term who knows, long term "my bet" is down. There is unmeasurable expectation at this point due to the fact that very little information of substance has come from Z/M and plenty af "talk" to put it politly from everyone else! I think current price has excellent results from beta sites priced in, hope they all are "excellent" IMHO anything less than excellent won't be good enough! And if they don't start dropping some BIG names signed on the dotted line (you all remember the names weve ben hearing, and they all want to be the first one to sign, HA) Also I will probably not be able to find out to much over the weekend, but if in fact Z/M code has to processed on massive (expensive) hardware to attain these monumental speeds, its going to be more of a pain than its worth. They will just buy the best "tools" heres that word again, I keep using it, tools the in-house guys can use themselves on their own equipment. And with the steady outpour of new "stuff" becoming available every day, pricing will get competitive even for the good ones! By the way I "hear" somebody's going to announce one Jan 6th isn't that right Doc?
One other note, Weekend Homework: PC Check
Try these tests see what kind of results you get:
1 - Use DOS,WIN,OS2 whatever your operating system is command to set the date and time to just a few minutes before the DREADED 2000 catastrophic watch your computer go into the next century, What happens? Check date and time.
* NOTE STOP HERE IF YOU AREN'T COMFORTABLE WITH GOING INTO BIOS SETUP!
2 - Reboot your system doing whatever necessary to initialize the Setup Routine on your particular computer. Once inside change NOTHING but the DATE and TIME again to just minutes before Dooms Day! Again watch it go into the next millennium. What happened? Check date and time.
3 - Reboot your system doing whatever necessary to initialize the Setup Routine on your particular computer. Once inside change NOTHING but the DATE and TIME again but this time set it to 2000 in the year. Restart your operating system and try your programs you count on every day I did, and haven't yet found one that doesn't work. on computers with bios dated 94 to current, I havent tried any 286's yet but have seen 386's up perform correctly, now I know this is a bios funtion even yours dosn't show the corect date, there will be a bios update for most things available tha don't already work, replacing isn't much harded than changing a lite bulb.) and haven't yet found one that doesn't work. What happened?
Let me know.
Happy Trading
