My main guess (and I have more than one) is that some large shareholder (i.e., fund) is selling because of some preset criteria. That could have been that a contract be signed by a certain time period. When the conference call didn't offer such news, the decision was made to exit at this time, knowing that the stock would be driven lower but somewhat ameliorated by the positive context of the call. If and when a contract is announced, the entity could join back in at a time more consistent with their reward/risk criteria.

My next best guess is that I'm just a p*ss poor investor and will conjure up any excuse to not sell, and take my loss, and thereby prove my own ineptitude.
