RE: ISDN modems,

I have the 3Com Impact with a Turboexpress 920 card, and can get download speeds of almost 15K/sec. on occasion. The weak link is usually the server on the other end, so I end up waiting for them. I'm curious about the charges for ISDN service I've been reading about on this thread. I pay a flat fee, $50.00/mo. for the isp service, but my phone co. charges me $34.00/mo for the line PLUS .01/min. connect charges. My monthly bill is usually $250-300/mo. for the line with my normal usage, plus the isp charge. Now the isp wants to start charging me for my use over 150 hours a month. I'll probably have to switch to another isp that has a flat fee per month. I'm patiently waiting for ADSL or cable modems to make their way to my neighborhood. The response I got was "not this year" so ISDN is the only reliable solution for me at this time.
