but that is probably because when they offered stock to the CEO's of these companies, the CEO's said "We know AMZN stock is at least 10 times over-valued and by the time we can sell it it will be worth 12 dollars."

and the Amazon folks, knowing this was true, were forced to agree to the inflated "price" (number of shares)
