I look at the Market Statistics page on Yahoo Quotes daily. quote.yahoo.com I frequently notice that there is much more volume in Advancing issues on the BB even when the market is down. There is also still more new highs on the BB than on the NYSE or NASDAQ even there are much fewer stocks. Seems to indicate that there is a small core of stocks that are being trumpeted on the web and are immune to institutional buying or selling.
