Bags, bags, bags...........here's an excerpt from R&T Online.

Thank God I'm a motorcyclist! Who the hell wants to drive a bag on wheels? ;-)

First it was the steering wheel airbag. Then the passenger-side bag. Then the side-impact bag. Followed, naturally, by the knee-bag and bags for rear-seat passengers. Then there's BMW's inflating head restraint. Now Siemens AG has developed the world's first foot airbag designed to decrease lower leg injuries in collisions. The bag inflates from the floor, pushing the feet up and out of the way of the pedals. Siemens developed the foot airbag in response to European crash standards that take effect later this year calling for lower-leg protection. The bags are expected to appear on two European luxury cars to be named later. -MDL
