Franz,
I agree with you on slick Willie, but I don't think tomorrow is the end of it. I am not a great fan of his, but I have to wonder what we are doing to the office of the President. In my view we are weakening the position more each decade. If this continues, the office will be nothing more then a PR position for Congress. Is that what we want?

Think about it. $40,000,000 to find out he lied about oral sex. Maybe?

4% of GDP is a lot. Think about how many dollars 4% represents.

Imports are one thing. Dumping of products in the US due to a decrease in domestic or regional demand is another. Steel is currently being dumped in the US again. No one wants to say it in public. If you lose a steel plant because they cannot compete with dumped steel, the plant is not reopened at a later date. The company doing the dumping is trying to minimize loses so they can survive. They might also be subsidized by their government. How do you cope with with a government subsidized competitor selling at a loss? The deep pockets win that battle. Not too many US companies have the deep pockets of a government.

By the way, I eat more rice then potatoes.
