Well, the thing is, after a cell system is built out there is not that much demand for ANDW's products and that is part of their problem. Even thought the systems are adding lots of subs the capital expendature is tapering off and not as many new licenses are being awarded anymore either, most modern countries have a reasonable number of operators. Once the coverage footprint is established, additional capacity is the only driver for new sites, and a lot of the new microcell sites have only 1 or 2 antennas so there is not a lot of coax being installed. Coax is a big market for ANDW but there are getting to be more and more copy cat products, although Andrew still is the Cadillac of the coax industry IMHO.

Another problem is the trend to use higher frequency microwave radios like 23 and 38 GHz where the antenna is integrated into the radio downconverter and mounted on the tower. This market used to be ANDW'w birthright but now you don't see many big microwave dishes going up exceptin the case where an operator builds a high capacity backbone. This is happening to be sure, but still it's not like an ANDW dish is going up at every cell site like it used to.
