I'm not sure what your referring to, but I believe fully diluted isn't applicable when a company posts a loss. If you use the fully diluted shares the share count will increase and the loss per share will decrease (or not look so bad). I think it's only applicable when EPS is positive.

Only my understanding, which when it comes to accounting is not all that great.
