Actually, many PC companies have produced all-in-one computers. The Compaq Presario 3000 series was a great one with a built-in 12.1" TFT LCD display. The problem is that they were pretty expensive, and Compaq stopped making them after less than a year.

CompUSA salespeople claimed that the reason they stopped selling all-in-one computers was because customers didn't like them because they weren't flexible enough with regard to the monitor.

I disagree. I have always liked the all-one-one systems (I bought two of the Compaqs). I like them because they take less space, they are generally easier to configure, and I think they look better.

Of course, you get all those advantages with a laptop. And I now use a ThinkPad 770. (I wouldn't mind a Powerbook, once the prices come down.)

And I think Apple should call its new consumer laptops the goMac.
